Squares Terms

Last updated November 6, 2026

1. ABOUT THESE TERMS

These Squares Terms apply only to football squares boards on Sunday Survivor. They supplement our Terms of Service, which still apply to everything you do on the Services. If the two differ on a squares board, these Squares Terms control for that board.

An organizer agrees to these Squares Terms when opening a board. A player agrees by claiming a square. You need a Sunday Survivor account to claim a square.

Anyone with a board's link can view the board. On a square claimed with an account, the board's organizer sees the player's full account name, and everyone else who views the board sees the player's first name and last initial. A name the organizer types for a reserved square is shown exactly as typed to everyone who views the board.

2. THE $5 BOARD FEE AND REFUNDS

An organizer pays $5 per board, through Stripe checkout. The fee is a software-license fee for access to the Services. It is not a stake, wager, entry fee, or contribution to a prize.

The $5 is refunded automatically if the game is canceled before kickoff, or postponed before kickoff with no new date for 7 days. If a game is suspended or canceled after it has started, the $5 is not refunded.

If the game kicks off before the board is ready (for example, because payment completed after kickoff, or so close to kickoff that the board could not be created before the game started), no board is created for that game, and the organizer may use the payment for another game or get a refund. If the organizer does not choose within 24 hours, the $5 is refunded automatically.

Otherwise the $5 is not refunded, including for deleting a board or a board nobody joins.

3. PARTICIPANT MONEY

The organizer sets the price per square and the prize split. Sunday Survivor does not collect, hold, transfer, or distribute participant funds, and does not take a percentage of any square price or prize. The only money Sunday Survivor takes is the organizer's $5 board fee.

Collecting payment for squares and paying out prizes is the organizer's job, not ours. The prize total shown on a board is based on claimed squares, including claims not yet paid for. It is not a record of money collected, and it is never a promise that anyone has paid or will be paid. Sunday Survivor is not a sportsbook, casino, gambling operator, escrow agent, or fiduciary, and does not settle payment or prize disputes.

4. ORGANIZER RESPONSIBILITIES

If you open a board, you represent and warrant that: (1) the board is private and is not offered or advertised to the general public; (2) the board and every off-platform arrangement connected with it are lawful wherever you and the players are located; (3) you will not use the Services to collect, transmit, hold, escrow, or distribute participant funds or prizes; (4) you will not state or imply that Sunday Survivor sponsors, operates, approves, or guarantees the board or any prize; and (5) you will promptly remove any player who is ineligible to take part. You are responsible for determining whether your board is permitted and for satisfying any registration, disclosure, tax, age, location, and other legal obligations.

5. LAWFUL USE

Laws governing sports squares, contests, gambling, wagering, and lotteries vary by location. Sunday Survivor does not represent that any board, prize, or other arrangement is lawful where you live. Any arrangement involving money or anything else of value is made independently by the organizer and players, without our participation or approval. Use squares only where it is lawful for you and for every player. Do not offer or advertise a board to the general public, or use squares to match people who do not already belong to the same private group.

6. DIGITS, LOCKS, AND WINNERS

Sunday Survivor calculates and shows the winning squares under the board's rules. Any prize arrangement, and any dispute about paying or collecting, is between the organizer and the players.

The digits along each side of the grid are assigned by a random draw, made when the board fills or at kickoff.

Once the digits are drawn, squares can no longer be claimed or given up. Until kickoff, the organizer can still hand a square to a different person, and every hand-off is shown on the board with its time. From kickoff on, no square changes hands.

Each quarter is decided from the official score feed once that period is confirmed complete. The Final is the game's final score, overtime included. If the game ends before the fourth quarter starts, the Final has no winner. Until a period is confirmed, any "winning now" display is provisional. If the feed later corrects a score, the winners, and any prize amounts shown on the board, are recalculated from the corrected results and the change is shown on the board.

7. RESULTS AND LIABILITY

The Services are administrative tools only. Sunday Survivor does not guarantee the accuracy, availability, timeliness, or completeness of scores, results, or payouts shown on a board. Before acting on any result in a way that involves money or anything else of value, verify it independently. Sunday Survivor shall not be liable for any square price, prize, winnings, expected winnings, or other amount allegedly lost as a result of any error, outage, delay, incorrect score, or other malfunction of the Services. The limitations of liability in the Terms of Service apply to squares.
